The Terror Game, the next Stranger video will be released in North America
at the end of July/early August. This video (which I have seen and is
quite good) will also include Stranger Than Fiction, the documentary on
the Stranger series, which includes interviews will all of the actors,
including Colin, Nicola, Peter, Sylvester and Jon. The retail of the 90
minute tape will be $29.99.
In other news, the next story, Breach of the Peach, has completed shooting
and is in the editing stage right now. It guest stars Caroline John, by
the way. (Shame on you if you don't know who she is.)
"The film - scripted and with a director appointed (Nimoy) - finally
ran out of time <geez, already?>. Shooting failed to start before the
contract expired, and as a result the Lumier <sic> production is well and
truly dead. However, as I understand it, the BBC have now sold the film
rights on to Amblin' so everything now sits with Speilberg's company. The
series also seems to be going through a few changes and rumors now suggest
something along the following lines...
In an attempt to keep down costs (and possibly to get round the non-
European quota for imported TV programmes into Europe) DOCTOR WHO may be
made here in Britain. The format, or perhaps more accurately, the style
of the show also looks likke it might be altered <?>. the 90 minute pilot
seems liable to be a Dalek surprise <oo, now THERE'S a surprise), and
something of the Doctor's past may be about to be exposed. Peter O'Toole
has been contacted with the view to him playing the Doctor's father in an
early episode!"
"A contract has finally been agreed for a video release of the
documentary. It will now run for 90 minutes and is scheduled for release
in September. This will allow for the footage to be re-edited to include
most of the specially shot sequences, the newly recovered clips from
missing episodes <ah, I knew that would happen>, and all the
interviews. It should be something very special when it's finally put
together and I for one am really looking forward to seeing it."
